Rob squeezes into this episode’s resto-modded, classic Mini Cooper, and finds there’s more design flair – and performance – than he’d imagined. Called the Type 10, its ambitious Canadian builders have dropped in a modern Honda Civic engine, a limited-slip-diff and a six speed manual. VTEC power and 800kgs puts power to weight in Porsche Cayman territory. Add some ingenious interior –and exterior design touches inspired by minimalist furniture design and you end up with a richly appointed, charming classic with a thoroughly modern performance and usability.
