Thanks to Clive Sutton for lending us the Dodge Challenger:

It’s time for an almighty America vs Germany drag race!

We’ve got Mat lining up in the most powerful Dodge Challenger you can buy – the Dodge Challenger Super Stock. Alongside him, we have the BMW M3 Touring and… The Smart #1 BRABUS?!

It’s an interesting lineup, but let’s see how the three compare. Starting with the Dodge, it’s powered by an almighty 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that can produce 820hp and 960Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, weighing in at 2,014kg.

On the other side of the line-up, we have the BMW M3 Touring. It’s packing a 3-litre turbocharged straight-six under the bonnet that can put down 510hp and 650Nm. Although it can send power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, in this instance it’ll be running in rear-wheel drive mode. It’s also the lightest car here, coming in at 1,865kg.

Then in the middle, we have the Smart car. But of course, this is no normal Smart car – it’s the Smart #1 BRABUS! This little pocket rocket comes with two electric motors, which combine to put down 428hp and 584Nm. It weighs in at around 1,900kg, and it runs in four-wheel drive only.

So you’d expect the Smart to shoot off the line given it’s electric, but can it hang on to snatch the win? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!
