Magnaflow

The CNC Machinist is accountable for all aspects of set-up and the safe operation of Lathes and Mills. Under limited supervision operates machinery to produce precision metal parts. Determines dimensions and tolerances of material for machining, sequences of operations required by studying specifications such as blueprints and engineering drawings. Ability to work with mold, die, consumable tooling and troubleshoot complex problems as they arise. The Machinist will follow engineering drawings, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances. Executes complex to potentially difficult machining assignments using machine tools ranging from multiple axis lathes to mills. Uses precision measuring tools to check accuracy of work.

Responsibilities:

Ability to use manual machines as well as CNC driven equipment
Understand and utilize safety standards and precautions.
Use of CAD/CAM software: Mastercam to program machines 2 axis CNC lathes and 3 axis CNC Mill.
Ability to conduct Initial set-up and proper adjustments prior to and during operations. operates machine controls to position tools or regulate cutting depth, speed, feed, or coolant flow to produce precision metal parts in accordance with engineering drawings and production work orders
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
Machinists will review proper dimensions of finished material to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers and comparators.
Daily cleaning of machines, tooling and parts and area surrounding machine in accordance with 5S procedures.
Excellent time management skills and attendance record.
Ability to follow directions from supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand, and follows work rules and procedures, complies with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accepts constructive feedback and exhibits initiative and commitment.
Able to work overtime on deadlines and on weekends when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS

Basic knowledge of G and M codes.
Minimum 3-5 years as a CNC machinist.
Ability to successfully load programs, set up, and run product
Solid necessary math skills
Must have good organizational and planning skills
Excellent attention to detail
Must have strong mechanical aptitude and be self-motivated.
Ability to work hands on individually as well as with others as a team.
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
Must work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Familiar with Mori Seiki and Fanuc controls desired
Must have basic computer skill
Able to read blueprints and use inspection tools
Basic MASTERCAM programming is helpful
Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.
Educational Requirements:

Certification in Master Cam software is a plus
Prior experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a plus
High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Vocational training is a plus.
